Cobra Kai, created by Josh Heald and Jon Hurwitz, also involved collaboration with Hayden Schlossberg in bringing the show to life. The show features Daniel LaRusso, and Johnny Lawrence, and their reunion in the modern day after decades of fighting at the All Valley Karate Tournament, in 1984. Fans were immediately drawn to the homage shown during Cobra Kai Season 4’s closing credits.
In Episode 7’s closing moments, they paid tribute to Albert Olmstead with an “In Memoriam” segment, mentioning his name.
The Pilot Episode included an “In Memoriam” segment to honor Ed Asner, who played Sid Weinberg, Johnny Lawrence’s father.

Olmstead was a part of the Camera and Electrical Department and contributed to 21 episodes of Cobra Kai.
An accident at the residence of a crewmember resulted in his death on 19 July 2021.
Olmstead, in addition to Cobra Kai’s work, has also contributed to many other popular shows and movies, such as Spider-Man: Homecoming and Stranger Things.
The Olmstead Family mourns the death of a professional
Olmstead’s family released a statement claiming his death resulted from a strange event at home – a wall unexpectedly collapsed. Scott Wachtel, who conveyed this statement to 11 Alive, explained that a parked van blocked his escape, leaving him trapped by the collapsed wall in the closed garage. Wachtel added that if Olmstead had arrived five minutes earlier or later, our world would be very different right now.
